Finnland attracts data centers with cheap energy and stable regulations

Finland has emerged as a prime destination for data centers, luring companies like Microsoft and Google with its low-cost electricity and favorable business environment within the EU. The TikTok project will see the construction of a new facility with an initial capacity of 50 megawatts, expandable to 128 MW.

Lahti, located in southern Finland, has been selected as the ideal location for the infrastructure. The move marks a significant shift from TikTok's previous plans to invest in Ireland, a country that has seen its data center development stall in recent years due to power grid constraints.
