Samsung doubles down: a57 & a37 5g arrive before summer
Just a month after unveiling its Galaxy S26 flagship, Samsung is back with a swift follow-up, introducing its first mid-range smartphones of 2026. The South Korean giant has quietly launched the Samsung Galaxy A57 5G and A37 5G, aiming to bridge the gap between premium features and accessible pricing.
A familiar design, sharper ai
While the silhouettes remain largely unchanged from their A56 and A36 predecessors, these new models demonstrate a subtle evolution. Both devices sport a vertically oriented pill-shaped camera module, maintaining a robust build quality certified with IP68 resistance. The A57, in particular, is noticeably slimmer and lighter, boasting a profile of just 6.9mm and weighing 179 grams—a welcome reduction for daily carry.
But the real story lies within. Samsung has significantly bolstered the AI capabilities, edging closer to the performance found in its high-end Galaxy line. One UI 8.5, the device’s custom skin, promises a solid six years of software and security updates, alongside the added protection of Knox Vault, a private album, and proactive security alerts. Galaxy AI features like voice transcription, AI-powered selection, object eraser, and the 'Better Portrait' function for group photos are now standard.
The Camera Advantage: Nightography Refined
Camera configurations remain consistent with a triple-lens rear setup. The A57 features a 50-megapixel primary sensor, supported by a 12MP ultra-wide lens and a 5MP macro lens for capturing details. The A37 mirrors this, though with an 8MP ultra-wide. Both models integrate an improved Image Signal Processor (ISP), promising enhanced low-light performance through Samsung’s Nightography mode. The 12MP front-facing camera, housed within a punch-hole display, ensures crisp selfies.
Super AMOLED+ displays, bolstered by Vision Booster Technology for improved visibility, stretch across both devices at 6.7 inches and offer a smooth 120Hz refresh rate. Beyond the visual upgrades, expect a boost in CPU, GPU, and NPU performance, contributing to a more responsive user experience.
Perhaps the most compelling factor? Both phones pack a hefty 5,000 mAh battery, promising up to two days of usage on a single charge. Crucially, a 30-minute charge will replenish the battery to 60% – a boon for those constantly on the move.
The Samsung Galaxy A57 5G and A37 5G will hit Spanish retailers starting April 10th, arriving in four color options each – Dark Blue, Gray, Light Blue, and Lavender for the A57; and Dark Green, Gray, Lavender, and White for the A37. The price point, yet to be officially announced, will likely position them squarely as compelling alternatives for consumers seeking flagship-adjacent features without the flagship price tag.
