Oppo's foldable phone with no crease set to launch before samsung's galaxy z fold 8

Oppo, the Chinese smartphone maker, is poised to release its latest foldable device, the Find N6, with a groundbreaking feature - a completely flat display with no visible crease.

Beating samsung to the punch

The upcoming Find N6 has been showcased by Zhou Yibao, Product Manager for Oppo's Find series, in a first-look video. Leaked images and details suggest the device will indeed have an uncreased foldable display, potentially putting it ahead of Samsung's Galaxy Z Fold 8, which is expected to feature a crease-free design as well.

The Find N6's display will measure 8.12 inches when unfolded and will be an OLED LTPO panel with a 120Hz refresh rate and a resolution of 2248 x 2480 pixels. The outer display will be a similar OLED LTPO panel, measuring 6.62 inches with a resolution of 1140 x 2616 pixels.

Powering the device will be Qualcomm's Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 1 chipset, available in configurations of 12GB or 16GB of RAM. The Find N6 also boasts a 6,000mAh battery, a significant upgrade over current foldables like the Galaxy Z Fold 3 and Pixel Fold.

Not only does Oppo claim the Find N6's display will have no crease, but it also features IPX8 and IPX9 ratings for water resistance. This puts it ahead of the competition in terms of durability.

While Oppo's move is a significant challenge to Samsung's dominance in the foldable market, it remains to be seen if the Find N6 can maintain its momentum and gain widespread adoption.
