Mova, a global leader in LiDAR-equipped robotic lawnmowers, is aiming to liberate homeowners from the chore of lawn care with a trio of new product lines unveiled at CES. The company’s latest offerings leverage advanced AI and precision mapping to handle everything from postage-stamp lawns to sprawling estates—and potentially beyond, as evidenced by their surprising roomba-esque flying prototype.

The new Mova range, cleverly numbered to reflect the maximum garden size in square meters, provides a scalable solution for diverse needs. The entry-level Mova ViAX, designed for gardens up to 250 square meters, employs AI-powered computer vision, while higher-end models incorporate LiDAR Technology for unparalleled mapping accuracy. LiDAR, using laser pulses to measure distances, creates detailed 3D maps—a crucial advantage for navigating complex terrains and obstacles.

The UltraEyes 1.0 system, featured in select models, deserves particular attention. This innovative system combines dual Ultra-HDR cameras with AI to generate a 3D visual field, recognizing lawn boundaries without the need for cumbersome perimeter cords. It can identify and respond to over 300 potential obstacles, from rocks and toys to pets and even children, adjusting its path accordingly – a welcome safety feature.

Users can control their robotic landscapers via a mobile app, selecting from five cutting modes, defining no-go zones, and scheduling mowing times. The Mova ViAX series starts at €579 for gardens up to 500 square meters. For larger properties—ranging from 800 to 2,000 square meters—the Mova LiDAX Ultra series steps in, boasting 4G connectivity for extended range and centimetric precision, even operating reliably in low-light conditions or rain. The UltraView 2.0 system, integrating LiDAR with a 1080p HDR camera and AI, provides a 360-degree garden view, analyzing grass type and height for optimized cutting. Prices begin at €949.

But the most ambitious offering is the LiDAX Ultra AWD, designed for the most challenging terrains. Its all-wheel-drive system effortlessly conquers uneven surfaces, rocks up to six centimeters high, and slopes of up to 80%. The UltraView 3.0 system takes mapping to another level, fusing LiDAR with dual HDR cameras for real-time 3D depth mapping, eliminating the need for perimeter cables or RTK infrastructure. This model, targeted at gardens between 1,000 and 2,000 square meters, starts at €1,599.

And then there's the Pilot 70, a truly audacious concept unveiled at CES—a flying robotic cleaner capable of tackling attics, balconies, and even ceilings. Powered by a hefty 36V battery (double that of competitors), it can cover 1,000 square meters on a single charge, cutting even dense grass with 3-centimeter precision. While not quite ready for consumers, the Pilot 70 offers a glimpse into a future where even the most tedious outdoor tasks are fully automated. The era of robotic lawn care is officially upon us, and Mova is setting the standard.
