Conflict of interest rocks indra-em&e merger plans
Indra's board met to assess the potential operation after receiving a letter from EM&E stating they were backing out of the deal. The letter cited SEPI's disclosure of relevant information on March 18, 2026, which EM&E deemed did not create favorable circumstances for the merger.
EM&E, the largest private shareholder of Indra, emphasized their decision aimed to protect Indra's interests and its ambitious defense projects. They see halting the integration process as the best way to safeguard Indra's growth strategy, led by CEO Ángel Escribano, which focuses on strengthening the company's national and international position.
The move reiterates EM&E's commitment to Indra and its consolidation as a key player in the defense sector, prioritizing the protection of its interests and the solidity of its business venture under Escribano's guidance.
