Four tankers alter course amid iran crisis, diesel prices soar

Four diesel tankers, en route to Europe, have altered their course amid the escalating crisis triggered by the Iran conflict. The vessels, carrying a total of 1.2 million barrels of fuel oil, had set sail from the US and were crossing the Atlantic when they changed direction.

Grand ace6 now heads to togo, others aim southeast

While the Grand Ace6 is now bound for Togo in West Africa, the other three ships are heading southeast. Their detours come against the backdrop of a geopolitically charged situation dominated by the Iran conflict.

The blockade of the Strait of Hormuz has led to a global energy crisis, with Asia particularly hard hit by surging diesel prices. Many analysts suggest part of this fuel could end up in the hands of eastern buyers, although none of the ships have confirmed their ultimate destination as Asia.

Philip Jones-Lux, senior oil analyst, emphasized that while Europe might face difficulties in the future, it currently has enough crude to process.
