Email automation reaches unprecedented levels, study finds

More than 87% of global email traffic is now automated, a staggering new report reveals. The finding comes from a study by web hosting platform Hostinger, which analyzed one billion emails processed over a month. According to the research, just 13% of global email traffic is written by humans, with the remaining 87% generated by automated systems.

However, the increased automation has led to a significant rise in blocked messages. Some 56% of emails never reach their intended recipients, with phishing, malware, and bot networks accounting for 34% of these blocked messages. Suspicious marketing tactics and domain configuration issues also play a role in the high rejection rate.
