Apple Watch Ultra 4 Set to Debut with Enhanced Sensors and Hypertension Monitoring

Apple is slated to unveil the Apple Watch Ultra 4 on Wednesday, September 9th, during the "Surprise and Shine" event at 10 AM PDT/1 PM EDT. The device is expected to feature upgraded internal sensors, potentially doubling the number of components as reported by DigiTimes.

Key Upgrades and Features

Bloomberg’s Mark Gurman reports that the Ultra 4 will include an upgraded hypertension monitoring feature, reviewed by the FDA. This feature will analyze heart patterns to detect potential hypertension risk, utilizing green and infrared LED lights to assess blood vessel dilation and contraction.

Processor and AI Integration

Both the Apple Watch Ultra 4 and the Apple Watch Series 12 will incorporate a new chip, internally codenamed T8320, which will be branded as either S11 or S12. This marks the first S-series chip designed by Apple since the beginning of the AI era, and will bring the first CPU boost to the Apple Watch since 2023, enabling more AI features, including Siri AI, debuting on watchOS 27.

Design Uncertainties
