Izquierdo strongly advocates for enabling Samsung's “Secure WiFi” function, a feature often bypassed despite its critical protective capabilities. This setting automatically encrypts connections when using public networks, safeguarding user data from interception in locations like airports or university campuses. “I'm genuinely baffled by the low adoption rate of Secure WiFi,” Izquierdo remarked in a recent interview.
Beyond WiFi security, safeguarding data on your laptop involves layering defenses. Sanz recommends activating Secure Boot, a less-utilized setting that prevents unauthorized access to the hard drive. Full disk encryption, coupled with a reputable antivirus solution, is also paramount. “To neglect antivirus software today is, frankly, reckless,” Sanz stated bluntly, suggesting even Microsoft's free Defender offers a baseline level of protection.
