T-Mobile's reputation for affordability is taking a hit as the carrier enforces mandatory plan migrations, jacking up prices for many customers.

Legacy plans gutted, new offers unclear
The move, defended by T-Mobile as a way to provide customers with far more value, has instead sent shockwaves through the user base. Price-locked plans are seeing hikes, tax-inclusive billing has been dropped, and those on legacy plans are being forced to switch to newer, pricier options.
For some, the price difference is staggering. Customers who once paid under $50 a month are now staring at bills in the $200 to $300 range. While a few believe the new perks, like tax-inclusive billing and free lines, make the increased cost worthwhile, many others are plotting their exit.
A poll of PhoneArena readers found an overwhelming 62% plan to leave T-Mobile immediately, while another 24% intend to jump ship once their devices are paid off. Only 14% say they'll stick with the carrier.
Industry analysts at TD Cowen don't foresee a massive exodus, however, citing that T-Mobile remains the cheaper option compared to AT&T and Verizon. But with monthly bills skyrocketing, many customers have already reached their budget limits, making the decision for them.
